The Tempress II pressure balancing cartridge is engineered for use in tub and shower systems to maintain a consistent water temperature despite fluctuations in water pressure.
The pressure balancing cartridge compensates for pressure fluctuations in the supply system through a diaphragm connected pressure balancing mechanism.
The outlet temperature will change by no more than a mere Β±2 Β°F (1 Β°C) with a 50% drop in either the hot or cold water pressure.
Even if cold water pressure fails completely, the anti-scald design will reduce the flow rate to a safe level ensuring reliable protection against scalding.
The built-in check valves prevent cross flow between the hot and cold supplies.
The cartridge is compatible with a variety of brands and models, including but not limited to Gerber, Grohe, Danfoss, Newport Brass, Sigma, and Rohl.
This cartridge is for use with Tempress II Pressure Balance shower valves purchased before 2008.

If your shower system is over 15 years old, we recommend replacing the Valve Filters when replacing the Pressure Balance Cartridge. If your shower system has a diverter, we also recommend replacing the Diverter Assembly.
