Installing Cartridge
- Carefully remove the handle, bonnet, stop ring, cover plate and sleeve.
- Shut off the water to cartridge by tightening center screw on each check valve, 5 turns maximum clockwise.
- Using a 1-3/16" deep socket or an adjustable wrench, unscrew the cartridge and gently remove it from the housing.
Cleaning Cartridge
- Clean the screens by rinsing the cartridge under running water.
- To remove limescale, soak cartridge in a 50/50 solution of white distilled vinegar and water.
- Wipe cartridge and housing with wet cloth and apply a thin film of silicone lubricant to rubber O-rings. (Do not use Vaseline, because it will deteriorate the rubber O-rings.)
- Carefully install cartridge into housing and tighten to 10 lb-ft.
- Fully open check valves and inspect for leaks.
Replacing Stop Valve Assemblies
- Turn off water supply to valve.
- Tighten center screw on check valve inward until it clears bottom on check valve slot.
- Unscrew check valve counterclockwise with 27 mm socket. Do not use a screwdriver or multi-grip plier.
- Insert new valve back into housing (apply a maximum torque of 8-10 N-m or 70-88 lb-in). Unscrew center and re-close to 5 turns maximum clockwise.
- Turn on water supply to valve.
- Fully open the check valve screws and inspect for leaks.
